Wow. Oranges are $1.99 per pound. One oranges is what, about 3/4 pound? This seems like a lot. Is a salad going to be $10?
Trader Joe's has reasonable prices for fruits and vegetables, but in my experience they turn quickly. Actually, a lot of their perishables (like cheese) turn quick, I think due to the lack of preservatives.
Unnecessary preservatives, like food coloring, is what I like about Trader Joe's. And since the store isn't that close by, sometimes one has to eat (ha) the cost of a moldy item.
